After trying the comfort seat i don't like it, for some reason after a while it makes my wrists ache where as the stock seat was fine. I am waiting for my stock seat to come after being re covered as it way too slippy.

I bought the comfort seat today, dealer had it in stock. It is a good looking piece.

I dont have a bike yet so I can't comment on comfort.

My butt felt ok on the stock seat but with my long legs (I'm 6'3") and an old knee injury, I was looking for a little more seat height so my legs wouldn't have to fold up so tightly. The comfort seat is about an inch thicker which is enough to take the pressure off my knee. I guessing thats why Kingfixer's wrists bothered him, the higher seat is probably putting more weight on them. It's also covered in a suede like material that helps keep my butt place during hard braking, thus saving my nuts from slamming into the tank. It's pretty comfortable too, I rode 200 miles on it yesterday and there are no complaints coming from down there. Unless you're short on the inseam I'd give it a thumbs up.

The comfort seat is a far superior finish and stops me moving around too much but too high for me, the guy who is recovering my stock seat says he will alter it for me and make it the same thickness as the stock seat.

One of the big complaints on the 1199 is the seat isn't very comfortable. If that's an issue a comfort seat is probably the easiest way out.

Has anyone with the Ducati comfort seat tried a Corbin? I will definately want a comfy seat for the long rides, but don't know if I should wait for Corbin to come up with something. It looks like the Ducati seat might be cheaper than a Corbin anyway. Any comparisons?

I rode the comfort seat home from the dealership, about 120 miles. I'm five seven and a half ... it put me on tippy-toes and transferred my weight forward enough that I was noticing it by the time I got home.

I replaced it with the stock seat the next morning More secure (feet on ground) at downhill stoplights and wrists having less fatigue.

It depends on your size likely. Comfort seat seems to be wider than the stock one.

I purchased the race seat, which other than the cover, is exactly the same height as the comfort seat... hate it. I am 5' 11'' with 32" inseam coming from a streetfighter. It gave me the feeling that I was sitting over the bike vs in the bike. Not a feeling I like. I don't mind the stock seat now that I got used to it but have a feeling I will have issues on longer rides. May look into getting it re-covered by Sargent after falling in love with there streetfighter seat. Will post if I do.

    Lotto,

I have two Corbin Seats one on my MuliStrada and one on a Honda450X converted dual sport. Corbin makes the most comfortable seat (period). I put the Ducati's comfort seat on my 1199 and it made a big difference. The seat has allot more cushion and takes the spine jarring hit away. It also has an added benefit of reducing the amount of heat I feel from the exhaust under the seat (bonus). It does raise the seat height slightly but I have noticed no problems with my wrists as I normally hold myself up with my core not so much my arms. The comfy seat grips considerably better. With all this said however, I will go with Corbin seat on my 1199 the moment is out. There seat design and ergonomics are extemely well designed and take away 100% of the hot spots on my bum. They did it with the Multi and the Honda so I am sure they will do it with the 1199. Just my 2 cents.
